WEBE Wellness: Spring Has Sprung!

WEBE Wellness: Spring Has Sprung!

Tomorrow is the day we have been waiting for – the First Day of Spring! 5:37am tomorrow morning – perfectly timed for right after you wake up!

But the fact that it is getting warmer – after today of course – isn’t the only reason why the new season will make you happier and healthier:

• Light really helps – we changed the clocks and sprung forward last weekend, so it’s brighter later now – and that change in the amount of sunshine impacts our mood – you’ve probably already noticed that the office atmosphere has changed.

• When you’re headed home look up and you’ll notice the sky is bluer – it’s not just your imagination. The sun’s position in the sky this time of year changes things.

• It may seem backwards, but because there’s more daylight you might sleep better. More sun during the day can help you sleep better at night, and if you sleep better, you’ll be more awake and better able to concentrate during the day.

• Plus, the warmer weather brings out socially distant activities like gardening which is a mood enhancer – in fact, any activity that gets you outside in the fresh air and just moving is good for your health and well-being, improving everything from metabolism, weight, mood – even eyesight!
