will be held on May 3, 2008 at Jennings Beach in Fairfield. To learn about
sponsorship opportunities or start a team, please visit: http://wishct.kintera.org/walkforwishes.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Connecticut grants the wishes of children
with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience
with hope, strength and joy. Last year, the Connecticut Chapter granted
146 wishes to children from all eight counties of our great state. Magical,
wish-come-true experiences do wonders for local children by providing
a much-needed break from lengthy hospital stays and medical treatments.
More than 1,600 wishes have been granted in Connecticut since the chapter’s
inception in 1986, and over 158,000 wishes have come true across the nation
in Make-A-Wish Foundation’s 28-year history. To read Connecticut
wish stories and learn more about the organization, please visit www.ct.wish.org.

at Norwalk Hospital
The annual "Walk This Way.... With Us" 3k/5k Walk to benefit
the Whittingham Cancer Center at Norwalk Hospital will be held on Saturday,
May 17, 2008 at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk.
All proceeds from the walk are used for the many state of the art programs
and services the Whittingham Cancer Center provides. WCC devotes the funds
to cancer research and clinical trials, programs which support the many
practical, emotional and family challenges that a cancer diagnosis brings,
including a program for the children of patients, art and music therapies
and nutritional counseling, among others. WCC provides a team approach
creates a warm atmosphere with oncologists, radiologists, nurses and social
workers all participating to help patients make the very best decisions.
Our goal for the Walk is to encourage people to join teams with family,
friends, neighbors and co-workers and collect pledges on behalf of the
Cancer Center. You can sponsor yourself, ask your family and friends to
sponsor you as well as local businesses.
This can be a truly fun, family day with entertainment, the all-physician
rock band DNR, face painting, a kids' tent and prize drawings. For more
